AI Code Review - Ownership Over Output

The Problem Wasnt The AI

I failed my team today.

In our retro, an engineer admitted he caused a bug. AI-generated code that he didnt check deeply enough.

His solution: "Next time, I'll write it manually. No AI."
I said nothing. A massive mistake.

My silence validated the wrong takeaway. The problem wasn't the AI; it was the lack of ownership over the output.

I should have interrupted: "Don't stop using the tool. Just get better at reviewing the output."

My silence unintentionally killed innovation. Leaders clear misconceptions, not just blockers.
