I used to think being a good leader was about big, strategic moves. I was wrong.

The most impactful stuff is often the smallest.

A while back, I started asking my directs for their fav emoji. Then I put it in our 1:1 calendar invites.

It's a tiny thing. But it make the meeting feel personal. It stands out in a crowded calendar. It’s a small signal that says "I see you."

The goal isnt to analyze them. Just to make 'em smile.
