Self-Reflection as an Underrated Developer Skill
Self-Reflection Is an Under-rated Developer Skill
My engineer today: "I think my mindset is bad."
He was genuinely worried because he disagreed with a colleague on priorities.
I told him the opposite.
That level of self-reflection is what makes him a great teammate.
A team where everyone has the same personal values is a fragile team.
It's a bug, not a feature.
The goal isn't to get everyone to think the same, its to agree on a small set of shared values on how to disagree and commit.
